One night in hell

Laid to Rest

Starring Bobbi Sue Luther, Kevin Gage, Sean Whalen, Lena Headey, Johnathon Schaech, Nick Principe, Thomas Dekker

Directed by Robert Hall

After a series of disjointed video footage of women begging for their lives and being murdered. Inter cut with a chrome skull face mask rising from a vat. We're introduced to a very disoriented young women (Luther) waking up in a coffin. After escaping the coffin she realizes that she's in a funeral home and more importantly has no idea who she is and how she got there. Looking for help she sees the funeral director. But hes little help as hes swiftly and brutally killed by a man dressed in black and wearing chrome skull face mask. She barely escapes the funeral home with her life. From there she makes a few friends in her quest to find out who she is and what the hell happened to her. All the while ChromeSkull is in constant pursuit. Killing anyone who stands in his way in the most gore filled ways possible.

This movie isn't shy when it comes to killing off characters. Save for maybe our “final girl” no one seems safe from getting the business end of the killer's twin knives rammed into them. Speaking of the killer I'm glad that he doesn't say a word throughout the movie. No quips or Freddy Kruger style one liners.

All the actors do a fine job. Especially Luther who has to carry the weight of the film's story on her shoulders. Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker both from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are good in their limited screen time.

The only real things that bothered me in the film were minor little nitpicks. There was too many we can't use the phone, the car is out of gas or the police aren't coming type of moments. And a couple of characters were a little too stereotypical. But other then those little gripes this movie is one relentless, gore filled mamma jamma. Sure to please if your looking for some slasher goodness with a few new twists thrown in.
